Traditional framebuilding was once the beating heart of cycling culture — a rite of passage for discerning riders. Today, bikes are just another product. Made by the thousands, for the numbers on a spreadsheet — not for people.

The EB90 Project is a quiet resistance to that. One frame at a time, it puts the human back at the centre of bike making.

Framebuilding as a craft is at a cliff edge. Most of the masters are aging out. And the knowledge they carry — the kind that can’t be Googled — only survives through doing. Craftsmanship lives in the hands, not in the head. It can’t be written down. It has to be passed on, slowly, through repetition and guidance.

I started this project to teach my son Finlay, who’s just begun apprenticing with me. Ninety frames means ninety chances to learn the old way — properly. It’s volume with meaning. A rhythm that teaches more than just technique.

Each frame keeps a piece of that knowledge alive. And when you buy one, you’re not just getting a beautiful bike — you’re helping protect a disappearing craft for the next generation.
